Msafara (Caravan)

I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the recent political situation in Kenya, but after the disputed December elections a civil unrest (to put it mildly) occurred in which major tribal division along the two candidates led to rioting that has left nearly 1500 dead and 300,000 without homes. Our church, Grace Community Church (www.gracecc.org), is partnered with a church in Kenya called Nairobi Chapel. Their head pastor is heading a movement that started today (3/7) called Msafara  (means Caravan) which will take several hundred Kenyan pastors from all walks of faith on a "caravan" or march across Kenya, rallying at 5 major cities along the way. They are armed with survival packs donated from UNICEF as well as resources for those displaced by the recent violence. Please say a prayer for their safety this week, and if interested, check out their blog HERE: MSAFARA BLOG

Please continue to pray for the safety and security of the nation of Kenya. Unfortunately Kenya has traditionally been one of the most stable and democratic African nations in recent history, and enjoys a large foreign tourist trade; all of which have been shattered by the recent violence. Aaron and I have many friends who are like family over there and ask that you join with us in praying for them! Thank you!
