Our church has started a new adoption ministry in hopes of educating people on the plight of orphans around the world. The goal is to educate people on the orphan crisis, motivate them to do something (adopt, support an orphan or orphanage, etc) and also to support those who are considering or have adopted both in resources and finances. I am so excited about this ministry. As the orphan crisis continues to grow in numbers (last estimates are around 150 million orphans world wide) it is great to see people creating awareness. Check out their website if you are interested: www.gracehandsofhope.org
Let me also throw in a little plug for World Vision... many people I talk to think it is great that we are adopting but are not at a place where adoption is possible for them and therefore don't see what they can do. World Vision (along with multiple other organizations) offer child support programs, where for a mere $35 dollars a month you can sponsor a child by providing food, sheltor, medical care, and school supplies. If you are adopting and want to find a way for family and friends to get more involved in the orphan crisis... visit www.worldvision.org

It's great to find your blog and read about God's faithfulnes as you move towards your adoption. My wife and I are transracial adoptive parents - you can find us at www.james127.blogspot.com
Exciting to see your church starting a ministry as well. If there's any way I can be a resource let me know! I work for ministry called The ABBA Fund (http://www.abbafund.org) and I believe the more adoption support can happen at a local church level the better!
God's continued blessings,
Jason
